The EPILEPSY SOCIETY of Kern County, Inc. was formed on May 12, 1954, after fifteen individuals met in the home of Georgia Johnson.  The agency celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2004 with special emphasis on the celebration at its Candlelight Memories Dinner and Silent Auction during National Epilepsy Awareness Month in November.

The Epilepsy Society of Kern County had a major plumbing disaster and a pipe burst in our office, so we’ve been working out of an office trailer for the last few days and have been trying to get things back in order.  The mobile office itself is actually very nice and comfortable, but we’ve just had to deal with moving all of our things (from a wet, damp office), setting up internet and phone systems. We anticipate being in our new office trailer for about 2 or 3 months, and PortableOffices.org has given us an excellent price.

The Epilepsy Society is an affiliate of The United Way of Kern County and is a member of The Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce.
